What did NVIDIA announce about its DSX AI Factory Platform and the power infrastructure behind AI data centers?

NVIDIA says companies are using its DSX AI Factory Platform to plan, simulate and run electrical grids and AI factories as one system. The company cites partners including GE Vernova, Hitachi Energy, Schneider Electric, Siemens Energy, Phaidra and Emerald AI building on DSX to address power constraints NVIDIA says have backlogged over $300 billion in equipment and 200 gigawatts of U.S. interconnection projects.

Das Wichtigste

  • NVIDIA says its DSX AI Factory Platform lets companies plan, simulate and run the electrical grid and the AI factory as one system, from the substation to the rack.
  • NVIDIA says more than $300 billion in equipment is backlogged and over 200 gigawatts of projects are waiting in U.S. interconnection queues, a problem the company attributes to grids, facilities and compute being designed independently.
  • NVIDIA named GE Vernova, Hitachi Energy, Schneider Electric (with AVEVA and ETAP), and Siemens Energy as partners building reference architectures, digital twins or qualified hardware around DSX.
  • NVIDIA says Phaidra's integration of DSX components into its self-learning agents delivers about 10% more compute within the same power envelope.
  • NVIDIA says Emerald AI's integration of its Conductor platform with DSX Flex is modeled to unlock up to 100 gigawatts of underused capacity on the existing U.S. grid.

NVIDIA Details DSX AI Factory Platform Partners

NVIDIA said companies are building on its DSX AI Factory Platform to plan, simulate and run the electrical grid and the AI factory as a single system, "from the substation to the rack," according to a company blog post published Oct. 21, 2026, by Vladimir Troy.

NVIDIA said the effort responds to a power bottleneck in AI infrastructure. The company said more than $300 billion in equipment is backlogged and more than 200 gigawatts of projects are waiting in U.S. interconnection queues. NVIDIA attributed the bottleneck to siloed systems, saying the grid, the facility and the compute inside have traditionally been designed independently, creating delays, risk and stranded capacity.

What DSX Includes

According to NVIDIA, DSX brings these systems together through several components:

  • DSX Sim and SimReady assets, developed with energy manufacturers, let engineers simulate the grid, substation and AI factory together, validating generators, switchgear, power systems and cooling before construction begins, NVIDIA said.
  • DSX Flex syncs AI factory power demand with grid conditions and onsite generation, which NVIDIA said turns AI factories from static loads into flexible grid assets.
  • DSX MaxLPS and DSX Exchange are designed to increase compute output per watt and securely share signals across compute, networking, energy, cooling and operations, according to NVIDIA.

Partner Deployments

NVIDIA named several companies it said are deploying DSX-related technology:

  • GE Vernova is applying its grid-to-facility and rack power expertise alongside NVIDIA DSX systems, NVIDIA said.
  • Hitachi Energy's battery energy storage system has qualified as "NVIDIA DSX Ready," which NVIDIA said helps customers identify power infrastructure meeting its DSX reference architecture requirements.
  • Schneider Electric, working with AVEVA and ETAP, is advancing DSX with validated NVIDIA Vera Rubin power and cooling reference architectures and an NVIDIA Omniverse-powered AI factory digital twin, according to NVIDIA. NVIDIA said combining AVEVA's engineering software with NVIDIA SimReady assets, OpenUSD and Omniverse connects simulations, real-time operational data and AI-driven optimization across the companies' systems.
  • Siemens Energy is expanding its collaboration with NVIDIA to develop a reference design for power infrastructure aligned with the NVIDIA DSX Vera Rubin AI factory design, NVIDIA said. The company said Siemens Energy is also exploring NVIDIA RAPIDS, Metropolis and Isaac Sim technologies for its Noedra digital twin platform to evaluate grid monitoring and outage prevention.
  • Phaidra integrated DSX Flex, DSX Max-Q and DSX Exchange into its self-learning agents, which NVIDIA said optimizes cooling and power allocation and delivers about 10% more compute within the same power envelope.
  • Emerald AI integrated its Conductor platform into DSX Flex to help utilities use underused grid capacity, an approach NVIDIA said is modeled to unlock up to 100 gigawatts on the existing U.S. grid.

NVIDIA pointed to the Omniverse DSX Blueprint and the Vera Rubin DSX AI Factory Reference Design as related resources, and said additional details would be shared in sessions during GTC Berlin, including presentations with Schneider Electric on Oct. 21.

Häufige Fragen

What is NVIDIA DSX?
According to NVIDIA, DSX is an AI Factory Platform that lets companies plan, simulate and run the electrical grid and the AI factory together as one system, covering components such as DSX Sim, DSX Flex, DSX MaxLPS and DSX Exchange.
Why did NVIDIA say power has become a bottleneck for AI infrastructure?
NVIDIA says more than $300 billion in equipment is backlogged and over 200 gigawatts of projects are waiting in U.S. interconnection queues, which it attributes to the grid, facility and compute historically being designed as separate, siloed systems.
Which companies did NVIDIA say are using DSX?
NVIDIA named GE Vernova, Hitachi Energy, Schneider Electric with AVEVA and ETAP, Siemens Energy, Phaidra and Emerald AI as companies building products or reference designs on or around the DSX platform.
What results did NVIDIA cite from DSX partners?
NVIDIA said Phaidra's integration of DSX components delivered about 10% more compute within the same power envelope, and that Emerald AI's Conductor integration with DSX Flex is modeled to unlock up to 100 gigawatts on the existing U.S. grid.
