Amazon Quick Desktop App Reaches General Availability

AWS said Wednesday that the Amazon Quick desktop application is now generally available on macOS and Windows, following a preview period. The company also announced a new activity feed for the Quick mobile app on iOS and Android.

What was announced

AWS describes Amazon Quick as an AI-powered assistant for work that handles research, business insights, automation, and no-code app building. With today's release, the desktop app is available to all customers on both macOS and Windows.

On mobile, AWS says the new activity feed consolidates email, calendar, CRM, and messaging into a single prioritized view. According to the company, the feed shows users the decisions that need their attention while agents resolve routine items in the background. AWS says items that agents resolve on their own disappear from the feed, leaving a shorter queue of items that need direct action, and that the feed is designed to improve over time as it learns a user's relationships, priorities, and patterns.

Infrastructure and compliance claims

AWS says Quick runs on AWS infrastructure, and that customer data stays within the customer's environment while conversations remain private. The company says full audit trails are available through Amazon CloudWatch and AWS CloudTrail.

AWS also says compliance certifications including HIPAA, FedRAMP, SOC 2, and ISO 27001 are built into Quick from the start.

Preview usage cited by AWS

AWS says customers in manufacturing, healthcare, and sports used Quick on desktop during the preview period, asking questions in natural language and receiving what the company describes as grounded, trustworthy answers, which AWS says cut time-to-insight while keeping governance and accuracy built in.

AWS also describes a shared workspace feature within Quick, where dashboards, agents, and automations built by one team member are made available to the rest of the team.

Example use case

AWS's announcement includes an example of an enterprise account executive at a manufacturing company using Quick to prepare for a customer meeting. According to AWS, the account executive typed a single request and Quick assembled the meeting brief in the background.
