Anthropic announced three commitments under the White House’s Pledge to America’s Youth: Investing in AI Education, including a $1 million cybersecurity education investment, support for a national AI challenge and a new curriculum for educators.
The company said it joined other businesses at a White House AI Education Taskforce event after signing the pledge in August.
Cybersecurity funding
Anthropic said it will invest $1 million over three years in PicoCTF, Carnegie Mellon University’s hands-on cybersecurity education program for middle and high school students.
PicoCTF uses interactive challenges to teach problem-solving skills. According to Anthropic, the program focuses on students from underserved communities, and the new funding will allow thousands more students to develop cybersecurity and critical-thinking skills.

Curriculum for educators
Anthropic is developing and launching what it calls a comprehensive AI Fluency curriculum for instructors in K-12 schools and higher education. The company said the material builds on its existing courses and is intended to help educators integrate AI into classrooms.
The curriculum will be released under a Creative Commons license, allowing anyone to use, modify and share it freely. Anthropic said it is designed to work with any AI system, regardless of a school’s resources.
Existing education programs
Anthropic also reported figures from education platforms and institutions using Claude. It said MagicSchool serves 3 million educators across every U.S. school district and has recorded more than 100 million AI engagements. Amira Learning uses Claude in conversational reading experiences for millions of K-12 students, while Solvely.ai uses it to assist more than 5 million students in over 120 countries.
Claude for Education serves more than 100,000 students and faculty, according to Anthropic. The company cited an AI-integrated curriculum at USF Law and adoption across Northeastern’s 13 campuses. It also said Claude Builder Clubs were set to launch at more than 60 U.S. universities in the fall.
Anthropic said its education work draws on an analysis of more than one million conversations involving university students and 74,000 educator conversations. The company reported that creating and analyzing accounted for 70% of university student usage, while curriculum development represented 57% of educator usage.
Anthropic said those findings informed Learning Mode in Claude, which emphasizes critical thinking, as well as the design of its AI Fluency curriculum.
